Gothic elements in Dracula

In the novel Dracula, Bram Stoker uses many Gothic elements eternal love, pathetic fallacy, or blood to represent the dark setting and its significance as a story written during the Victorian era. While reading the book, I felt spooky by the presence of vampires and a group of men trying to defend and attack the creature with communion wafers. The Gothic element, pathetic fallacy, was shown in the end when Dracula acted as if he was completely powerless grabbing money from the floor and fleeing out the window. Dracula had always been the master and now that he is powerless, he just runs away from troubles. Eternal love is very beautiful in this novel, for Mina and Jonathan is able to keep their love despite how many things they have been through. When Mina was in trouble, the men were desperate to save her soul because they all adore her. The blood that was transfused from the friends’ bodies to one person was significant, for she received more than one person’s power. She is able to survive and the story ends happily.
